Clinical Implementation of Pharmacogenomics

About This Course

This is a 1.5 hours training session in basics of pharmacogenomics by Nalagenetics. We are a medical technology start-up company in Singapore focusing on personalized medication, especially in the prevention of adverse drug reactions. We develop genetic tests and clinical decision support to help physicians and providers personalize prescriptions for their patients. Currently, we have a presence in Singapore and Indonesia.

Requirements

This course is intended for healthcare professionals intending to prescribe pharmacogenomics tests. PGx tests are now classified as level 2 genetic test according to Code of Practice on the Standards for the Provision of Clinical Genetic/Genomic Testing (CGT) Services and Clinical Laboratory Genetic/Genomic Testing (LGT) Services (‘Standards’) issued by the Ministry of Health Singapore. In other words, in order to prescribe these tests, one must have undergone a proper training session on genetics.

Fadhli is the product manager of Nalagenetics. Having been trained as a pharmacist and obtaining pharmacogenomics certification from American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists, he aspires to use his qualification to advocate the use of PGx testing in clinical settings.

Dr Astrid Irwanto
Dr Astrid Irwanto

After obtaining her PhD in genetics in Genome Institute of Singapore, Dr Irwanto went on to start Nalagenetics along with three other scientists in GIS. She is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Nalagenetics.
